If we want to find folders, files, user account, or even the printer information, we will search them by using the search tool in the Start menu. In case you do not want others to search files or else in your computer, you can hide the Search Icon which is in the Start menu by editing the Registry. Follow the steps.
- Access to Registry Editor, go to Start > Run and type regedit then press Enter.
- Go to the path like below,
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies
\Explorer
- Right click on Explorer folder and select New > DWORD Value.
- Name the Registry NoFind.
- Double click on NoFind.
- Change the Value data to 1 and click OK button then close the Registry Editor program.
- Log off your computer then log on again.
- Now the Search tool disappear from the Start menu.
