Begin with, you have a bunch of files that need to be renamed in the form like, file_name, file_name(1), file_name(2), … file_name(n). It’s not problem if you have only ten, but if 100 or 1,000 files, how to do? I think you must get lazy on this tedious job before you start. Taking more time in an easy work is not good to you. Today I found the tip to quick rename many files in a few steps for any format. You don’t have to rename file by file anymore. I usually use this tip for hundreds of image in a folder. Now see the example and you can apply it easily.

- I open the folder consisting of many image files that I want to rename all of them. Note that all are the same format, dot jpg.
- Select all the files by pressing the key, Ctrl+A.
- Right click on a file selected in the second step then choose Rename tab. See the picture.
- Now I rename a file “MyTime.jpg” and then press Enter key on your keyboard.
- I get all renamed in the form MyTime.jpg, MyTime(1).jpg, … , MyTime(3).jpg.
- Finish and no need to use any program for this work.

Well hey I never knew Windows could do that. Sounds even quicker than making a batch file. BTW, you’ve got a very nice site. Keep it up! John
